Question
I live in a semi-detached house with a back garden. Next door never had a back garden because 150 years ago a factory was built there. The land has now been sold off, the factory pulled down and a bungalow has been built parallel with the boundary line. This bungalow is within 1.3M of my boundary, is there anything I can do under the party wall act or any other act to stop its completion?
Answer
There is nothing in the Party Wall Act that will help you, the purpose of the Act is to protect adjoining owners and their properties during the building process.
The only way of stopping the work is by objecting through the planning process but as it appears to be almost finished I assume that they acquired all the necessary consents.
